(Soul, Spirit & Guidance) Sony has Patented a Contact Lens that is Blink Powered and Records Video
Unlike other forms of contacts and glasses that created an augmented reality or hook you up to the internet, Sony’s new patent is on a simple set of contacts that can record video. Sony filed a patent in the U.S. in May of 2013 for a smart contact lens.
The recording is turned on and off with the user’s blink and sensors can detect if it was an intentional or unintentional one.
The camera would feature auto focus, automatic exposure adjustment and an adjustable zoom. The device would also be able to record video, store it and play it back.
Simple, piezoelectric sensors would allow the movements of the eye to charge the battery of the device.
The lens would feature an organic electroluminescence display screen, according to the patent.
The task, now, is to fit all of this technology, comfortably, into the lens.
